I've been busy with a toy I've been making and now taking a break from that I wanted to explore expressions of my character for my storyboards. Here is a sample. More to come in the week.

Life Drawing- The expression of old men.

These were made in fall of 2009. Charcoal on paper. 11"x18". I remember Corney (teacher) telling me to understand what I see and to take my time to find the expression. The expression I imagine for this man is an empty beer bottle. Oh the frustration!

Visual Development

These two drawings are personal and odd. I basically took three pictures and combine them to make a new character. So basically, the model was super skinny, almost sickly. I used that plus my reference pictures made the above images.

If you look at the top image and think Robo-Cop you would be correct. I tried my best to use the unique texture of Robo-Cop while tweaking the form. Dated 2008.

Color script

This is a color script study I made of an old animation by Don Bluth . Pastel on paper. Dated November 2008.

Cyber Dog!

These are from a design I created while I was taking Rick Maki's class. The Man loved two things: Baseball and Design. Cyber-dog is a scout unit. I was thinking German Shepard meets Robo Cop. The piece was painted in water color on paper. Dated 2008.
